An exceptional pair of French Louis XIV period armchairs, circa late 1600s, masterfully crafted from richly patinated Circassian walnut. These stately fauteuils feature beautifully hand-carved scroll arms and bold turned legs with classic barley twist stretchers- hallmarks of the grandeur and symmetry that define the Louis XIV style.
Recently reupholstered in a deep navy velvet, the chairs are finished with antique brass nailhead trim, enhancing their sculptural lines while adding a sophisticated contrast to the aged walnut. The upholstery is both refined and comfortable, making these pieces as functional as they are visually striking.
The wood has acquired a deep, lustrous patina over centuries, showcasing the character and craftsmanship of the period. Perfect for a collector or designer seeking statement seating with timeless appeal.
